Over the past decade, my data science journey has taken me across the globe. I’ve worked roles in United Kingdom, Netherlands, British Virgin Islands and New Zealand, in a variety of industries including financial services, engineering and healthcare. This exposure has provided a unique perspective on global business practices and diverse work environments, allowing me to adapt data science methodologies to suit a range of contexts and industries.

I currently work in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) for Westpac New Zealand, where I perform transaction monitoring to identify irregularities and highlight suspicion of AML-related activity, combatting illicit activities such as drug trafficking, terrorist financing, modern slavery and human trafficking. In prior roles, I’ve built machine learning solutions in customer insight, performed internal audits of regulatory compliance models, built product pricing models, and enhanced utilization of resources at an accident & emergency department of a hospital.

Academically, I hold a Master’s in Mathematics from Cardiff University, where I graduated with a distinction in the top 5% of my cohort. This academic foundation has been instrumental in shaping my analytical approach and commitment to continuous learning.

Coding isn’t just a skill I’ve developed – It’s my passion. I thrive on the ability to transform data into solutions that solve real-world problems, improve lives, and deliver tangible value. With experience across a plethora of programming languages, predominantly Python, R, SQL, SAS, and VBA, I’ve built a versatile toolkit that enables me to tackle a wide range of challenges, from uncovering insights that drive impactful decisions to creating systems that address pressing needs. What excites me most is seeing the positive outcomes of my work – whether it’s helping businesses better serve their customers or building solutions that enhance everyday experiences. For me, coding is a powerful tool to make a difference, and that’s what keeps me motivated every day.

As a Udemy instructor, my goal is to elevate coding education by offering courses that focus on practical, real-world business problems. Too many courses cover a broad range of topics without diving into the specific methods that professionals use every day. My approach is different – I design my courses to provide actionable skills that learners can apply immediately in their day-to-day roles.

Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about traveling the world and immersing myself in the history and culture of every country I visit. I’m fascinated by how historical events have shaped cultural identities and ways of thinking, and I avidly read books on modern history and geopolitics to deepen my understanding of these developments. Cooking is another passion of mine, especially exploring how regional cuisines have evolved over time. Along my travels, I’ve picked up hobbies like hiking and surfing, enjoying the beauty and adventure that different parts of the world offer.
